The Azim Premji Scholarship 2025 is a targeted financial support programme that is run by the Azim Premji Foundation to help girls from disadvantaged backgrounds continue into higher education. Selected students receive an annual award of rs 30,000 for the full duration of their undergraduate or diploma programme (2–5 years) with payments intended to cover non-tuition needs like books, travel and other academic expenses. This initiative prioritises girls who studied in government schools and who enroll as first-year students for the 2025–26 academic session. The scheme was rolled out across multiple states in 2025 and ran an application window in September. Registrations for the 2025 cohort have now closed, future rounds (Round 2) are indicated to reopen at a later date on the foundation’s portal.

To be eligible for the Azim Premji Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet following criteria:

1. Candidate Must have Passed both Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student from a government school/college in one of the participating states.
2. Candidate Must Have taken admission to the first year of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma for the academic year 2025–26 (regular, full-time enrolment).
3. Be admitted to a bona fide government or private university/college in India (program duration: 2–5 years).
4. Not be a current student of Azim Premji University or a recipient of Wipro scholarships (those applicants are ineligible).

How to apply online — step-by-step

1. Visit the official Azim Premji Scholarship page and click Apply Now at scholarship.azimpremjifoundation.org
2. On homepage Click Register (new applicants) and complete the registration fields — or log in if already registered.
3. Choose “Register (New Applicants Cohort 2025)” and answer the eligibility check questions truthfully.
4. Enter a working mobile number and verify it via OTP.
5. Upload required documents (photograph, Aadhaar, class X/XII marksheets, admission/fee receipt, bank details) in the prescribed format and size.
6. Review the form, submit the application and keep a copy/acknowledgement for your records.

Selection process & renewals

Selection is primarily administrative: applications are assessed for fulfilment of eligibility conditions and authenticity of documents. The Foundation’s outreach aims to include students from disadvantaged backgrounds rather than selecting purely on merit. Scholarship renewals require proof of continued enrolment; in some cycles the annual amount has been disbursed in two instalments.
